Dear Parents and Carers,
You will have no doubt heard the government’s announcement on Sunday evening about the proposal for schools to re-open to more pupils after the half term holiday. In our case that would be the week of June 8. School leaders did not have any prior warning of what was going to be said on Sunday evening; we heard the message at the same time as you did. The government's plan is for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils to be the first year groups to return to school.
As you can imagine, there are lots of issues to consider and plans to be made over the next two weeks. Detailed guidance for schools was only published yesterday at 7pm. Bearing this in mind I would ask that you give us some time this week to plan for the reopening in such a way that we can give assurance to staff, parents and children that we have made the school environment as safe a place as possible. We will send out a letter with more details at the beginning of next week, hopefully on Monday. In the meantime please do continue to look after yourselves and stay safe.
