Guidance for parents on Covid_19 symptoms

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are aware that some children are currently feeling unwell with various symptons that may normally be associated with a common cold.  Due to the prevalence of Covid_19 at the moment we have to follow strict government guidance in order to keep our school and community safe. Therefore, if your child has ANY of these 3 symptoms of Covid_19:

  • New persistent dry cough (i.e coughing a lot for more than one hour, or 3 or more episodes of coughing in a day)
  • High temperature
  • Loss of sense of taste or smell

PLEASE do not send them or any of their siblings into school.  You need to either self isolate as a household for 10 days, AND/OR book at test for your child.  If the test comes back negative then your child (and any siblings) can return to school immediately.  If the test is positive then your child needs to stay off for the remainder of the 10 days but the rest of the household will all need to self-isolate for the remainder of 14 days from the onset of your child’s symptoms.

Please inform school of the outcomes of any test.

We have attached a couple of useful info sheets under “Parents/Newsletters” which may be of help to you.
