Contact us
Although much of the work we do is ‘behind the scenes’, we are keen to be accessible to staff, parents and carers. One or more school governors are usually in attendance at various events at the school and we look forward to meeting you at these occasions. We endeavour to answer any questions you might have about the governance of the school in person or via the information on these pages.
If you have any further queries, suggestions on how to make Disley Primary School the best it can be or wish to express an interest in becoming a school governor, please contact Heather Taylor, Headteacher or Janette Johnson, Chair of Governors via the school.

Our vision is to use the strength of the school to build on what we have achieved to create a learning community which seeks to raise standards, the enjoyment, achievement and aspirations for all, and ensures children and their families are supported.
The values of the Governors are underpinned by the principles of equality, inclusion and commitment to support the well-being of every child and their families in our school.
The rationale of the Governing Board is to:
• Ensure consistently high expectations across our school: amongst learners, teachers, parents and carers;
• Enable all learners to benefit from high quality teaching and learning;
• Work effectively with parents and carers, professionals and the wider community to promote health and well-being, in order to create the right conditions for learners to thrive;
• Make efficient use of all resources available to us and thereby maximise the benefits for learners;
• Work with external partners to widen the range of opportunities available to our workforce and pupils;
• Improve social cohesion within our community by strengthening our commitment to co-operative values, including respect, fairness and democracy.
